Cristian Arzola

Dr. Arzola is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Toronto and staff anesthesiologist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a contributing editor of the Obstetric Anesthesia Digest Journal. His training includes a master degree in Clinical Epidemiology, Applied Biostatics, Medical Education and a Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia. His research and teaching interests are obstetric anesthesia, ultrasound-assisted neuraxial blocks and point-of-care ultrasound applications in obstetric anesthesia.



Richelle Kruisselbrink

Dr. Kruisselbrink is a member of the department of Anesthesia at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada. Her clinical and research interests include regional anesthesia and the perioperative applications of point-of-care ultrasound. Richelle recently obtained “Testamur” status at the National Board of Echocardiography by successfully completing the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography. She is very active in education both within Toronto and internationally.



Adam Spencer

Dr. Spencer is Pediatric Anesthesiologist and Director of Acute Pain Services at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Canada. He is a Franco-Ontarian who completed a Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at the University of Montpellier in France. His main research interests include acute and complex pediatric pain and the use of point of care and perioperative use of ultrasound.



Anahi Perlas

Dr. Perlas is Associate Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto and the Director of the Clinical Regional Anesthesia Program at the Toronto Western Hospital, Canada. Her research focuses on perioperative applications of ultrasound imaging, both for diagnostic (gastric ultrasound) and interventional (regional anesthesia) uses. She has produced over 40 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and editorials. She is Associate Editor of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.



PETER Van de Putte

Dr. Van de Putte is a member of the department of Anesthesia at the AZ Monica Hospital, campus Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. He has been clinical director of the operating theatre and the one day clinic and is responsible for the resident’s training program. His clinical and research interest include regional anesthesia and point-of-care ultrasound applications. He is particularly interested in the development of gastric ultrasound as a perioperative aspiration risk assessment tool which is the topic of the PhD thesis he is working on. He is a member of BARA, ESRA and ASRA.
